St Bartholomew Catholic Mass Centre

The Catholic congregation of Meltham is part of the Catholic parish of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. They share the Church premises of St. Bartholomew at Meltham, using it as a Mass Centre. This sharing and a close relationship with the Anglican Church gave rise to identify with Meltham Churches Together where members of the Catholic community have made an equal contribution in the activities of the Crossroads Project.

Brief History

St. Bartholomew’s was served until 2007 by Holy Family Church in Slaithwaite, when a reorganisation of the Catholic Churches in Huddersfield resulted in Holy Family becoming part of the new Parish of the Holy Redeemer.
